Canada's Remembrance Day coinage has been a recurring Royal Canadian Mint program for decades, but the 2022 issue marks a particular inflection point — it was struck in the final months of Elizabeth II's reign, before her death in September of that year. Coins bearing her effigy continued shipping to collectors well into the mourning period, creating an unintentional document of the transition.
