Additional information

Tokelau — three atolls with no airstrip, no harbor capable of receiving large vessels, and a total land area under 12 square kilometers — has no indigenous coinage tradition whatsoever. Its collector issues are administered through New Zealand, which has managed Tokelau's external affairs since 1926. The red-tailed tropicbird nests on all three atolls and is among the few species that genuinely belongs to this territory rather than being chosen for generic Pacific appeal.
