| Obverse description | Within a central raised circular cartouche set into the star-shaped flan, the right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is depicted in profile, rendered in the posthumous style. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery of the cartouche, while 5 DOLLARS and COOK ISLANDS arc along the right, with the date 2023 positioned below the portrait. The surrounding star-shaped field is decorated with an intricate engraved pattern of stylised snowflake and floral motifs radiating across each point of the star, executed in a silk finish. A suspension hole is pierced at the apex of the uppermost point, allowing the piece to be displayed as an ornament. |
