Reverse description The reverse presents the plain back of the key-shaped flan, retaining the overall silhouette of a large ornate skeleton key with a crown-form bow at the top. The crown reverse displays the same arched flute structure and bead decoration visible from the front, here without inscriptions, giving a clean antiqued silver field. The shank features the same decorative foliate motif on the shoulder in low relief, and terminates at the bottom in a stepped bit with two rectangular notches cut into the tip. The entire surface carries a uniform antiqued finish that accentuates the sculptural relief of the design.

Additional information

Cook Islands has issued commemorative silver dollars under licensing arrangements for decades, with the "Key to my Kingdom" falling into a broad category of themed fantasy issues produced primarily for the collector market rather than any circulation purpose. These pieces are struck by external minting partners — typically European facilities — under Cook Islands' authority, which has made the territory one of the most prolific small-nation issuers in modern numismatics.

The posthumous attribution places this issue after September 2022. Cook Islands moved quickly to produce Elizabeth II memorial and tribute coinage in the months following her death, as did dozens of issuing authorities worldwide.
