Samoa has become one of the more prolific licensing hubs for DC Comics silver issues, with the Green Lantern appearing across multiple formats in recent years. These pieces are produced under arrangement with Warner Bros. Discovery and struck by private minting houses rather than a national facility — Samoa's monetary authority essentially lends its legal tender framework to a collectibles market that has little to do with the island's domestic economy.
The posthumous Elizabeth II obverse attribution reflects coins dated 2023 that were already in the pipeline when she died in September 2022, using the Jody Clark effigy approved during her lifetime.
