Reverse description Dramatic high-relief depiction of Medusa, the Gorgon of Greek mythology, shown as a fierce female figure facing the viewer with an open, fanged mouth and an intense, menacing expression. Her head is crowned with a mass of writhing serpents in place of hair, their bodies coiling dynamically across the field. Her right hand is raised with clawed fingers extended toward the viewer. The entire composition is framed by an ornate border of interlaced geometric and mythological decorative motifs. The arc legend LEGENDS & MYTHS appears at the top of the coin, and the inscription MEDUSA is placed to the upper right of the central figure within the inner field.
