The Battle of Grunwald, fought on 15 July 1410, was one of the largest engagements in medieval European history, pitting the Polish-Lithuanian union under Władysław II Jagiełło against the Teutonic Knights. The Knights' crushing defeat effectively ended their military dominance in the Baltic region, though the Order lingered politically for another century.
