| Additional information |
Kutná Hora was one of the most productive silver mining centers in medieval Europe, supplying the raw material for Prague Groschen that circulated across the continent from the late 13th century onward. The Czech mint town is an unusual choice for a Pacific island nation's bullion program, but Niue has built one of the more eclectic licensing portfolios in modern numismatics by attaching its sovereign issuing authority to commemorative programs produced by European and Asian facilities.
The Kutná Hora Mint itself only resumed operations in recent decades, positioning itself as a premium central European producer for the collector-bullion market.
