Obverse description Central field features the fourth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, diademed and draped, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the engraver's initials IRB incuse below the truncation. The denomination '5 DOLLARS' and the fineness mark 'Ag999' appear in the upper field, flanked by the curved legend 'TWELVE LABOURS OF HERCULES' encircling the portrait. The issuer 'ELIZABETH II NIUE' and the date '2018' are inscribed in the lower arc. Surrounding the central medallion is a broad decorative border comprising twelve individual roundels, each containing a high-relief depiction of one of the Twelve Labours of Hercules; the roundel at the top centre, representing the Nemean Lion, is highlighted with selective gold gilding. The coin exhibits an antique finish throughout.

Reverse description The reverse presents a dramatic high-relief scene depicting Hercules subduing the Nemean Lion, rendered in a classical figurative style with an antique patinated finish. Hercules, portrayed as a powerful muscular figure wearing a laurel wreath, is shown from above wrestling the lion to the ground, his arms locked around the beast's neck in a chokehold. The lion's mane is treated with selective gold gilding, creating a striking contrast against the antique silver field. A rocky cavern landscape with radiating striations forms the background. The legend 'NEMEAN LION' is inscribed in capital letters along the upper rim of the field.
