Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the truncation. The legend NIUE ISLAND, 5 DOLLARS, and ELIZABETH II arcs around the upper field, while the fineness mark Ag 999 appears to the lower left and the date 2015 is inscribed along the lower rim. Four recessed circular inserts, each containing a miniature gold-plated good luck charm, are positioned symmetrically in the four quadrants surrounding the royal portrait: a ladybird to the upper left, a four-leaf clover to the upper right, a horseshoe to the lower left, and an elephant to the lower right.
