| Obverse description | The obverse bears the fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, portrayed at 77 years of age as a bare-headed bust facing right, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The portrait, engraved by Susan Taylor after Susanna Blunt's original design, is rendered in fine relief against a flat field. The legend ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script, identifying the sovereign as Queen by the Grace of God. |
