Part of a long-running Cook Islands small-format gold program that has issued hundreds of novelty-themed pieces since the 2000s, this issue commemorates Guy Fawkes — the Catholic conspirator arrested beneath the House of Lords on 4–5 November 1605 before the Gunpowder Plot could be executed. Fawkes never actually lit the fuse; he was the watchman, not the architect, a distinction the historical record makes clear but popular mythology consistently ignores.
