| Reverse description | Central device depicts a majestic lion couchant resting beside a heraldic shield bearing the double-tailed lion of Bohemia, surmounted by the Czech royal crown, referencing the coat of arms of the Czech Republic. The lion is rendered in high relief with finely engraved mane and musculature, its tail curling to the right. The legend ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA arcs along the lower periphery. The gold specification 0.5g Au 999.9 is inscribed in the upper right field, indicating the coin's fineness and weight. |

The Czech Lion series, struck at the Czech Mint in Jablonec nad Nisou, became one of the more commercially successful bullion programs to emerge from Central Europe in the 2010s — an unusual arrangement in which a Czech private mint produces legal tender coinage under a Pacific island issuing authority. The 0.5g fractional format targets collector-investors priced out of larger gold issues, a market segment that expanded sharply after 2015 as spot prices climbed.
KM#3426 is one of several fractional denominations in the annual series. The Czech Mint has held the arrangement with Niue continuously, with each year's lion design carrying subtle modifications.
