Additional information

Niue's arrangement with the New Zealand Mint produced a wave of themed bullion issues in the early 2010s, the Baby Tiger among them. The coin exists because of a licensing model, not a monetary need — Niue's GDP was roughly $10 million USD at the time, and fractional gold pieces sold to overseas collectors generated more revenue per gram than almost any domestic economic activity could.

The embedded diamond is SI clarity — meaning visible inclusions under 10x magnification. At 0.004 carats, it is one of the smallest commercially graded stones used in numismatic issues.
