Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, rendered in the fourth definitive portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The Queen's hair is elaborately coiffed with fine detail. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left field, with FIJI and the date 2006 positioned to the right. The engraver's initials IRB appear in small characters below the truncation of the bust.

Reverse description Central depiction of Uluru (Ayers Rock), the iconic sandstone monolith of the Australian outback, rendered in low relief with fine surface detailing conveying its characteristic weathered ridges and striations. Sparse desert scrub appears at the base of the formation. The legend AYERS ROCK arcs along the upper field, separated from AUSTRALIA below it by a small decorative device, all enclosed within a beaded inner border. The denomination 5$ appears in the lower field beneath the central motif.
