| Obverse description | Crowned and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, rendered in high relief against a concave mirrored field, after the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait. The legend 'QUEEN ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper periphery, while '5 DOLLARS', 'TUVALU', and '2014' are inscribed along the lower border. The designer's initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation of the bust. |

Tuvalu has no meaningful connection to the American bald eagle — this is a bullion issue produced under Tuvalu's licensing arrangements with the Perth Mint, which has issued dozens of similarly themed coins exploiting the country's Commonwealth mint-agreement status to target foreign collector markets. The bald eagle was delisted from the U.S. Endangered Species Act in 2007 after population recovery from the DDT-driven collapse of the mid-20th century.
