Reverse description Central depiction of a World War I Australian soldier in uniform, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field, flanked by stylised representations of military land and sea equipment. Above the soldier, a striking semicircular arch of colorized stained glass artwork — rendered in alternating bands of orange, blue, and white — reproduces the iconic stained glass windows of the Hall of Memory at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra. The denomination '5 DOLLARS' is inscribed in raised lettering along the lower edge of the triangular flan.
