Additional information

Perth Mint's platinum koala series, launched in 1987, was among the first bullion programs globally to use platinum as its primary metal rather than a secondary offering alongside gold. The 2003 issue belongs to the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait era, which had been adopted across Commonwealth coinage from 1998 onward following a competitive selection process.

At 1.24 g, this is the one-twenty-fifth ounce denomination — the smallest in the annual series.
