| Obverse description | The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, is depicted in right-facing profile occupying the centre of the field. The Queen wears the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara and appears without additional adornment, consistent with Rank-Broadley's mature portrait style. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left periphery, while AUSTRALIA and the date 2010 arc along the right and lower right, all rendered in serif capitals. The engraver's initials IRB appear in small relief below the truncation of the neck. The mirrored proof field provides strong contrast against the frosted effigy and lettering. |

| Reverse description | The central design features a bold, three-dimensional representation of a Boeing 747 wide-body jet aircraft in low-angle flight, depicted from a slightly elevated front-right perspective with landing gear retracted, conveying dynamic motion across the mirror-polished field. Overlapping the fuselage is a large rectangular window frame motif — evoking the iconic upper-deck hump of the 747 — within which a second, smaller silhouette of the aircraft in level flight is rendered, creating a striking layered composition. The arc legend AVIATION HISTORY - BOEING 747 is inscribed in bold raised letters along the upper periphery. The denomination 5 DOLLARS appears in large relief lettering at the base of the design. The overall composition, engraved by Wojciech Pietranik, celebrates the Boeing 747's significance in modern aviation history. |
