The "10th Crusade" designation is a modern marketing conceit — there were historically eight numbered Crusades, with a ninth sometimes attributed to Louis IX's 1270 Tunisian campaign. No tenth crusade occurred. Cook Islands has issued hundreds of commemorative silver pieces under foreign licensing arrangements, with the actual minting contracted to European private mints, primarily in Poland and Austria, that produce these themed collector series with no meaningful connection to the issuing territory.
