| Obverse description | The central field bears the national arms of Liberia, depicting a sailing ship at sea before a rising sun, flanked by a palm tree, with a dove in flight above and a plough and shovel crossed below, all within a ornate shield supported by decorative mantling. The motto legend THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE arcs across the upper portion of the arms on a ribbon.
