Obverse description Printed in black on white paper, the note carries the issuing bank title COLONIAL BANK in a decorative letterpress banner across the top, with ST. THOMAS at the foot. Two oval guilloche vignettes bearing the denomination numeral $5 flank a central royal coat of arms. The serial number appears twice in the upper field, with the promise-to-pay text, date, and manuscript signatures of the Manager and Accountant occupying the central body of the note, all within a fine engraved border.
