| Obverse description | Central field features the crowned Public Seal of Niue, depicting a traditional Niuean motif within a circular cartouche surmounted by a royal crown, with two crossed oars below and the motto 'ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI' on a ribbon. The seal is flanked and surrounded by an elaborate high-relief design of two intertwining dragons rendered in an East Asian artistic style, their sinuous bodies and scaled forms filling the entire field. The legend 'NIUE ISLAND 2023' curves along the upper periphery, while 'FIVE DOLLARS' appears along the lower border. The silver fineness mark 'Ag 999' is inscribed to the lower left of the central seal. The coin is struck in antiqued finish, giving the deeply sculpted surfaces a darkened, aged appearance. |
