Z Force was the Allied special operations unit that conducted guerrilla and intelligence operations behind Japanese lines in the Pacific from 1942 onward, drawing heavily on Australian and New Zealand personnel. Many of its missions remain classified to this day, and the unit was deliberately kept off official order-of-battle documents to protect operatives still in the field.
Niue has issued collector silver under its own authority since a 1975 agreement with New Zealand, which retains responsibility for the island's defense and foreign affairs.
