| Obverse description | The Public Seal of Niue rendered in high relief at centre, surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by two crossed traditional Polynesian clubs below, with the motto legends ATUA and NIUE TUKULAGI inscribed on a scroll beneath. The seal and central devices are set within an ornate field decorated with elaborate stylised dragon motifs in the manner of traditional Chinese decorative art, extending across the entire coin surface. The legend NIUE ISLAND and the date 2023 arc along the upper periphery, while FIVE DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower periphery. The fineness mark Ag 999 appears to the left of the central seal. |
