| Obverse description | The Public Seal of Niue rendered in high relief against a textured field of overlapping scales, evoking dragon or fish scales across the entire border. The central device depicts a stylised coconut palm within a decorative circular wreath surmounted by a royal crown, flanked by ornamental leaf sprays and crossed beneath by two traditional Niuean paddles. The legend NIUE ISLAND FIVE DOLLARS arcs along the upper field, while the lower field carries the inscriptions 2 OZ, 2024, and AG 999. The motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI appears on a scroll at the base of the seal, and the XXI mint mark is visible to the right of the central device. |

| Reverse description | A magnificently detailed Chinese imperial dragon rendered in deep antiqued relief, its sinuous body coiling across the entire field amid stylised clouds and flames. The dragon's fearsome horned head is depicted facing the viewer in full frontal aspect at the upper centre, with elaborate whiskers, flowing mane, and clawed limbs extending dynamically through the composition. At the centre of the design, a genuine pearl insert is set within a sculpted open oyster shell mounted on a gilt-finished decorative stem, the shell and stem highlighted in gold-coloured plating to contrast with the dark antiqued silver field. The legend PEARL AND DRAGON is inscribed in relief along the lower arc of the field. |
