| Obverse description | The obverse features the Public Seal of Niue displayed prominently to the left of centre within a circular raised border, surmounted by a royal crown and encircled by a decorative wreath. The seal depicts a coconut palm tree above two crossed native paddles, with the legend PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE arcing above and the motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI inscribed on a scroll below. To the right of the seal, the field is filled with an elaborate pattern of traditional Polynesian decorative motifs and geometric symbols rendered in low relief. The denomination 5 DOLLARS appears in large incuse letters along the lower arc of the coin, while the date 2023 is inscribed vertically along the right edge of the field. |
