Obverse description The obverse of this rectangular antiqued silver piece features a centrally positioned oval cartouche framed by radiating sunburst lines emanating from its base, flanked on either side by deeply struck draped theatrical curtains rendered in high relief. Within the cartouche, the crowned Public Seal of Niue is depicted, surrounded by a wreath of laurel branches and encircled by the legend 'PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE' above and the Niuean motto 'ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI' on a scroll below, with two crossed implements beneath. The denomination '5 DOLLARS' is inscribed in bold relief along the upper border, while the date '2023' appears at the lower margin. A small hallmark 'Ag 999' is present in the lower field of the cartouche, attesting to the coin's fine silver content. The overall composition evokes the grandeur of a theatrical stage, consistent with the 'Pastel Circus' series theme.
