Obverse description The upper portion of the obverse displays the crowned Public Seal of Niue — a circular device depicting a coconut palm, encircled by an olive-leaf wreath and surmounted by a royal crown — with the legend PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE arching above and the Niuean motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI below. The lower field features a stylised composition incorporating the partial head of the Czech heraldic lion emerging from a background of diagonal architectural lines and decorative foliage, alluding to the reverse theme. A diagonal banner in the right field bears the denomination 5 DOLLARS and the date 2023 in bold relief. The Czech Mint mintmark (CM) appears at the lower centre of the field.
