| Obverse description | The Public Seal of Niue rendered in high relief at the upper centre of the field, depicting a crowned circular medallion enclosing a stylized breadfruit tree, encircled by a decorative chain border surmounted by a royal crown. Below the seal, the motto legends ATUA and NIUE TUKULAGI appear on two lines, flanked by crossed spears. The lower portion of the field features a dynamic diagonal composition incorporating a stylized lion's paw and lush tropical foliage in low relief, with the denomination 5 DOLLARS and date 2023 inscribed diagonally across a raised band. The Czech Mint mark (CM) appears in the lower centre of the field. |

The Czech Lion series, produced by the Czech Mint for the Niue licensing arrangement, has become one of the more commercially successful bullion programs in Central Europe — largely because it targets Czech and Slovak buyers who have no domestic gold bullion coin of their own. The 1/10 oz and smaller fractional formats exist precisely to lower the entry price for first-time precious metals buyers in a region where gold coin collecting has surged since the 2008 financial crisis.
At 1.24 g, this is the quarter-grain-adjacent "minigold" tier — a format the Czech Mint has refined considerably since its early fractional issues showed edge weakness at this diameter.
