Reverse description The reverse presents a highly detailed antiqued relief depicting the infamous American outlaws Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow in full figure, rendered in a cinematic 1930s gangster style. Clyde, positioned to the left, is shown in a pinstripe suit and flat cap, aiming a sawn-off shotgun toward the viewer, while Bonnie stands to his right in period dress, brandishing a revolver. In the background, a vintage automobile and pursuing law enforcement officers are depicted against a brick-wall urban streetscape. The eccentric hole in the lower right of the field is artistically incorporated into the design as a bullet-hole impact, surrounded by radiating cracks in the pavement. The legend 'BONNIE & CLYDE' is boldly inscribed in large stylized letters across the upper field.

Additional information

Niue has built a cottage industry issuing commemorative silver for the collector market, with virtually no connection to its own history or culture. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow's two-year criminal run ended in a Louisiana ambush on May 23, 1934 — 130 rounds fired by six lawmen into their stolen Ford V8. The FBI had been involved only peripherally; it was Texas Ranger Frank Hamer who coordinated the trap after tracking the pair for months.
