| Obverse description | The obverse features an enlarged rendition of the obverse design of the 1894 Barber Dime, presented as a raised coin-within-a-coin motif at the centre of the field. The central device depicts the laureate and draped bust of Liberty facing right, wearing a Phrygian-style cap adorned with an olive branch and the inscription LIBERTY on the headband. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arcs around the inner coin design, with the date 1894 appearing in the exergue. The outer border of the Niue issue carries the inscription NIUE ISLAND to the left and FIVE DOLLARS to the right, with the Niue coat of arms device at the top, and the specifications 2 OZ · 2026 · Ag 999 inscribed along the lower border. |
