| Obverse description | Draped and capped bust of Liberty facing left, her turban-style cap inscribed LIBERTY across the band, with flowing curled hair visible beneath. Thirteen six-pointed stars arranged around the periphery, seven to the left and six to the right of the effigy. The date appears in the lower exergue. The design, engraved by John Reich, reflects a neoclassical aesthetic with finely detailed drapery at the truncation of the bust. |
