Reverse description The reverse is entirely textual, bearing no central device. Two concentric rings of bold serifed capital letters fill the field: an outer ring reading C. BECHTLER ASSAYER and an inner ring reading RUTHERFORD COUNTY, separated by a small star ornament, with the central field left plain. As on the obverse, letters display the irregular sizing and spacing typical of individually punched dies. The design is bounded by a continuous beaded border matching that of the obverse.
