| Obverse description | Central field features the Liberian coat of arms — a shield depicting a sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun, surmounted by a dove in flight and flanked by scrollwork — enclosed within an ornate Western-style belt buckle motif with elaborate floral and foliate relief decoration filling the field. Annie Oakley's sharpshooting career was built on a childhood of necessity — she began hunting game in rural Ohio to pay off her widowed mother's mortgage, reportedly settling the debt by age fifteen. Buffalo Bill's Wild West show made her internationally famous, but it was her 1887 European tour, during which she reportedly shot a cigarette from the lips of Crown Prince Wilhelm of Germany, that cemented her legend abroad.
Liberia has issued commemorative silver in this weight class regularly since the 1990s, contracting largely through European distributors targeting the collector market rather than domestic circulation.
