| Obverse description | The obverse bears the national coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia at center, depicting a three-masted sailing ship approaching shore, a palm tree, a rising sun, a plow, and a dove in flight, all within a shield supported by scrollwork. A banner across the top of the shield bears the national motto, while a second ribbon at the base reads REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA. The date 2009 is divided across the lower field flanking the arms.
