Additional information

Gabriel Fahrenheit proposed his temperature scale in 1724, anchoring it to three fixed points: a brine-ice mixture, plain ice water, and human body temperature — the last of which he originally set at 96°F, later adjusted to 98.6°F after the scale was subdivided. Palau has built a cottage industry in themed commemorative silver issues, and this falls squarely in that category: a collector-market piece with no domestic circulation purpose.
