Obverse description At right, an intaglio portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is set against a multicolour guilloche underprint, with a vignette of the Kato ni Masima (traditional salt basket) at lower left integrating indigenous cultural symbolism into the composition. Denomination numeral and legal tender inscription appear in English, with the issuer name above. The overall palette and fine-line underprint are characteristic of De La Rue's security printing conventions of the period.
