| Obverse description | Red and peach intaglio note with an intricate guilloche underprint carrying repeated FIVE and CENTRAL BANK OF LIBERIA lettering across the centre field. A portrait vignette of President Edward J. Roye occupies the central position, with the coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia printed in an oval guilloche panel to the left and a torch optically variable ink element above it.
