Obverse description Chinese-language face with a central vignette of the imperial supported arms flanked by dragons within an oval guilloche border. Date inscription in Chinese characters at left reads Guangxu 32nd year; branch designation and seal impressions appear at right and lower center. Decorative frame with key-fret pattern borders the entire note.

'FIVE DOLLARS' appears in a guilloche panel below, with serial number, 'PEKING' overprint, date '1st Sept. 1906', and manuscript 'Foochow' branch notation at foot.
