Obverse description Bimetallic design divided vertically, with the truncated left-facing effigy of Queen Beatrix occupying the brass centre field on the left half. To the right, within the nickel-plated steel ring segment, appears the coat of arms of Saba featuring mountains, an eagle, and a scroll bearing the island name. The legend SABA appears in the lower central field, with the numeral 5 below in large characters.

Reverse description Central brass field displays two frogs in naturalistic relief, rendered in a detailed style characteristic of local wildlife coinage; the species depicted appears to be the Saban tree frog. Two small circular decorative elements flank the central motif within the field. The legend VIJF DOLLAR arcs across the upper portion of the coin, and the date 2013 appears in the lower exergue.
