| Obverse description | Central circular cartouche containing the mint name 'Bariz' (Paris) above the Hijri date 1314, with the phrase 'Khaznat al-Hasan' inscribed above within the inner circle. Surrounding the central medallion, a continuous Arabic legend in flowing Maghrebi script fills the wide annular field, stating the denomination of five legal dirhams and the purpose of standardising rights. Flanking the central circle on either side are two ornamental lozenge-shaped geometric devices. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, reflecting the refined engraving style of the Paris Mint. |
