| Obverse description | The obverse features the quartered coat of arms of Andorra at center, bearing the traditional heraldic emblems including the mitre and crosier, the vertical stripes, and the cattle, with the motto legend VIRTVS VNITA FORTIOR displayed on a scroll beneath the shield. The entire field is enveloped in an elaborate, deeply-engraved baroque-style floral and foliate arabesque decoration forming symmetrical swirling motifs, with a beaded border running along the rectangular periphery. The denomination 5 D. appears in the left field and the date 2013 in the right field, both integrated within the decorative scrollwork. The fineness designation Ag 925 is inscribed to the lower left, and the mint mark MW appears to the lower right within the ornamental design. The issuer name PRINCIPAT D'ANDORRA is inscribed in ornate Gothic-style lettering along the lower portion of the field. |
