| Reverse description | The reverse presents a bold, large Arabic numeral ٢٥ (25) prominently in the central field, referencing the date of Kuwait's National Day, February 25th. Below the numeral, the Arabic inscription فبراير ٢٠١٦ (February 2016) is engraved across the mid-field. The lower legend, rendered in both Arabic and English, reads عشرة دنانير / 10 DINARS along the inner arc, while the outer border carries the curved English inscription THE 55th ANNIVERSARY OF THE NATIONAL DAY OF THE STATE OF KUWAIT along the top and FEBRUARY 25th 2016 along the bottom. The overall design is framed by the same decorative geometric border motifs seen on the obverse. |

| Additional information |
Kuwait's National Day commemoratives have been issued with regularity since the early 1960s, but the 55th anniversary fell in 2016 under conditions of sharply depressed oil revenues — the state budget had swung to a deficit for the first time in over fifteen years. The gilt silver variant of this issue exists alongside a standard silver release, the KM#47a designation distinguishing it specifically by its gold plating rather than any change in the underlying fabric.
