Obverse description	A detailed relief view of the Seif Palace as it appeared circa 1900 occupies the central field, depicting the historic facade with its colonnaded frontage and arched gateway. The Arabic legend قصر السيف and the date ١٩٠٠ appear beneath the palace image, while the Latin inscription 'Sief Palace c1900' curves along the lower inner border. The bilingual legend 'State of Kuwait' in Latin and دولة الكويت in Arabic curves along the upper inner border. The entire design is framed by an ornate arabesque decorative border encircling the coin's rim.

The Arabic commemorative legend الذكرى الخامسة والثلاثون للعيد الوطني curves along the upper inner border. The dates '1961 - 1996' appear in the lower field beneath the palace, with the English inscription 'The 35th Anniversary of the National Day' below. An ornate arabesque decorative border frames the entire design at the rim.
