Additional information

The Turks and Caicos Islands adopted the US dollar as their official currency in 1973, which makes their crown-series issues a peculiarity — legal tender denominated in a unit that has no practical relationship to anything in daily commerce on the islands. These crowns circulated in name only, produced almost entirely for the collector market through the 1990s and 2000s.

The Queen's Sceptre series marked the occasion of her Golden Jubilee celebrations, a commemorative program spread across multiple dependent territories simultaneously.
