Reverse description Half-length portrait of Admiral of the Fleet Lord Louis Mountbatten facing left, depicted in full military dress uniform with peaked cap, rendered in high relief against a mirrored proof field. Crossed behind the portrait are a sword and a furled flag, serving as heraldic emblems of his military distinction. An extremely small mintmark in the form of a castle with two towers appears in the field. The legend 'MOUNTBATTEN' arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination '5 CROWNS' inscribed in the lower field.
