| Obverse description | The Nicaraguan national arms occupy the central field, rendered as an equilateral triangle enclosing five volcanoes rising from the sea with a radiant sun above and a Phrygian cap at the apex. The design is executed in proof finish against a mirror field. The circumscribing legend REPÚBLICA DE NICARAGUA arcs across the upper field, while AMÉRICA CENTRAL arcs along the lower field, both separated by dashes. The date 2017 appears in the exergue below the triangle. A continuous ring of raised beads frames the entire design near the rim. |
