Obverse description Grey intaglio on a multicolour guilloche underprint; the central vignette presents a cattle herd in an open pastoral landscape enclosed within an ornate frame, with BANCO NACIONAL DE NICARAGUA / DEPARTAMENTO DE EMISIÓN arching across the upper register and MANAGUA centred below. The series date SERIE DE 1951 runs vertically along both lateral margins, while large denomination numerals 5 anchor each lower corner, and the value statement VALE POR CINCO CÓRDOBAS appears in a banner beneath the central vignette. Two columns of legal text in small letterpress fill the lower register, terminated by the printer's imprint of the American Bank Note Company.
