Reverse description Printed in green. A finely engraved intaglio portrait of Christopher Columbus (labelled CRISTOBAL COLON) is set within a circular guilloche medallion at centre. Large numeral 5 vignettes appear at left and right, flanked by ornate scrollwork and lathe-work borders, with the bank title arched across the top and the denomination legend across the bottom. The printer's imprint appears at the foot of the note.
